Our first pregnancy journey started in the ER. During the ER visit, they did a routine pregnancy test using urinalysis which the test was done without our knowledge. We learned later it was positive.
That was the beginning of these disguised routine “procedures” or “policies” that were not fully disclosed to me. There are several things I wish I would have known. Hindsight is always 20/20, right? [Maybe I’m just desiring 2020 to be hindsight.]
My first pregnancy and postpartum was a process, not an experience. Yet, two of the best things of my life came from childbirth. First, Terryn David Boland. Second, the passion to provide a better experience for others.
You do not need a doctorate degree, 10 years of doula work and clinical experience, and a plethora of children for you to receive the utmost support and respect in your pregnancy, labor, and postpartum experience.
I’ve designed my childbirth education class to open the door to the questions you haven’t thought of, the choices you did or did not know you had, and the ignition to transition through parenthood as your own biggest advocate.
