Pregnancy -> Birth -> Beyond
I loved both of my birth experiences, one in the hospital and one at home, but Erica is what has me completely hooked on home births.
A home birth felt intimidating at first, until I got to know Erica. She has this calming presence that makes you feel safe and cared for from the very beginning. At every appointment, she takes the time to ask about your body, your emotions, your questions and how you're really doing. She slows things down, looks you in the eyes and genuinely cares about you as a whole person.
As someone who works in healthcare, I know how busy providers can be and how easy it is for appointments to feel rushed or like you're just checking things off a list. With Erica, I never felt that way.
She is incredibly knowledgeable, but what I appreciate just as much is her discernment. She knows her limitations, and if there's something she can't answer or you need additional support, she has an amazing team of people right behind her ready to help guide you.
Birth is one of the most beautiful and vulnerable times in our lives, and having someone you completely trust by your side changes everything. I would choose and trust Erica 1,000 times over again.Alexis M.
Individualized prenatal care, education, movement, preparation + support, so you feel informed and confident throughout pregnancy.
Appointments intentionally feel unhurried, giving us space to talk through how you’re feeling physically and emotionally, what your body is telling you, and what you need as birth approaches.
You’ll notice there is quite an emphasis on nutrition and pelvic floor relaxation during our visits. We believe that understanding your pelvic floor health and nutritional health can not only change your pregnancy experience, but also positively impact your labor and postpartum healing.
Birth where you feel most at home.
Choose the environment that feels right for you. Our private birth space at Coulee Health or the comfort of your own home.
Your care is centered around physiologic birth, informed choice and trusting your body, while having an experienced provider there to support you, monitor you and recognize when additional care may be needed.
Care doesn’t end once baby is here.
Continued support as your body recovers, your family adjusts and you find your footing in motherhood. Postpartum care is about checking in on you, not just baby.
From postpartum appointments and feeding support to rebuilding your core and returning to movement, you have access to a team that can support the transition beyond birth.
** We also believe that gathering together in community is the soul filling link in motherhood.
The last Wednesday of every month we meet at Coulee Health (9:15-11:15am) to connect on different topics, create community, practice breath work, and share experiences together.
Somewhere along the way, society became focused on birth and birth only.
But your entire experience matters.
How you are supported prenatally, how you are greeted and cared for during labor, and, absolutely, how you are lifted up by your community postpartum.
This isn’t just about where you give birth; it’s about feeling seen, heard, and supported throughout the entire journey.
Here, care isn’t centered around simply getting you to your due date. It’s about supporting the woman who’s having the baby.
You deserve time to ask questions. To understand your options. To know the person who may be standing beside you during one of the most vulnerable moments of your life.
From your first prenatal appointment through birth and postpartum, care is personal, collaborative and built around you and with the added support of the entire Coulee Health team when you need.
Hey! I’m Erica. My journey to midwifery started after giving birth to our oldest son. My maternal instincts knew there was a different experience to be had that was much more supportive, connected, and less medicalized.
You may say I took the long road. While I started nursing school in 2007 with the intention of becoming a midwife, I realized it was not for me. In 2010 I became a doula, in 2013 I completed chiropractic school and started a chiropractic practice with my husband. Throughout my time in school and practice I invested my heart and soul into external core and pelvic floor therapies. Saving the best for last, I followed the calling and became a Certified Professional Midwife in 2022. I have been mentored and supported by absolutely amazing women and men along the way and I look forward to supporting you in the way my young heart desired and eventually discovered.
Dr. Erica provides individualized midwifery care with an approach centered around education, movement, informed decision-making, with an emphasis on pelvic floor health to increase trusting the body’s ability to birth.
Rather than meeting your provider for the first time during labor, you’ll build a relationship throughout pregnancy, so when it’s time to welcome your baby, you’re surrounded by someone who already knows you, your pregnancy, and your goals.
Whether you’re newly pregnant, exploring your birth options, or simply wondering if midwifery care could be right for you, we’d love to start with a conversation.
Come see the space, meet Dr. Erica, ask your questions, and learn what personalized birth care can look like.
